Rotary Culinary and Textiles Program

Participants have the option to choose from two technical skills tracts: Culinary and Textiles. Culinary includes baking, event planning, canning and preserves, and other business ideas that involve the preparation, packaging, and selling of baked or cooked goods. Textiles include sewing, jewelry making, t-shirts, scarfs, leather work and other business ideas that involve textile goods. Individuals are required to complete a minimum of 48 hours that consists of 30 hours of diabetics and 18 hours of hands-on training to complete the program. Instructors include faculty from the University of Alabama, Shelton State Community College, and experienced industry business owners. Low-interest startup loans may be available to program completers.
